Bradgate supports Pay-to-Play

Next year, there will be changes in the way that clubs contribute to the running of the English Bridge Union, known as Pay-to-Play.

The committee have carefully followed the debate on the changes.

• they have attended meetings at county level
• they have spoken to our county representatives on the EBU Council
• they have spoken to other clubs

Recently, the EBU have asked all clubs to re-affiliate - we are currently affiliated and have been for a great many years.

The Committees conclusions are these :

• Given the EBU's proposed charges under Pay to Play AND our club's current level of income and expenditure, we are confident that we can hold subscriptions and table money at their current levels.
• The committee considers that it is in Bradgate's best interest to re-affiliate to the EBU.
