Bradgate Bridge Club

Bradgate Bridge Club is based in Rothley, Leicestershire, England and meets every Monday evening 7:15pm (except Christmas week and Easter Monday). We have a membership of 81 and currently average 12.5 tables in an evening.

The club currently has two teams in the Leicestershire league.

Visitors are welcome on a normal club night and on certain competition nights (see competitions for more details).

Congratulations to David & Rosemary Bacon who won the Mercury Students Competition at the County Club on 18th March.

Hercock TrophyAfter 9 Rounds Mary France and Howard Stevens have overtaken Betty Smith and Cathy Moloney.

Bradgate BowlAfter 7 Competitions the leader in the Bradgate Bowl is Howard Stevens with Cathy Moloney and Pam Knight lying second.

Congratulations to Linda Simmons and Mary Clarke who won the Ada Robson Trophy, and to Ian Inglis and Terry Stevenson who successfully defended the Davis Trophy.

Next competition is the Roger Bird Trophy on 12th May. This is a restricted teams of four where the top players are seeded in order to prevent them all playing together. You must sign up beforehand in order to play.

Next competition is the Thompson Trophy on 13th October. This is a handicapped competition so just turn up on the night.

Congratulations to Doug Morris and Phil Hinds who won the Thompson Trophy. The leading net score was made by a partership including a visitor who regrettably cannot win the Trophy.

Congratulations to Derek Goodman and David Hogg who won the Bradgate Cup as the most improved partnership over last season.

Congratulations to Howard Stevens who won the Bradgate Bowl for the fourth year running.

The club is holding a heat of the David Boston Sim Pairs on 27th October. Profits will be donated to LOROS.

The AGM will be held on 20th October with free bridge afterwards. Everybody guaranteed a partner. Sorry no visitors that night.
